Job description
Ardingly College is pleased to welcome applications for the role of Head of Prep for either September 2024 or January 2025.
This is an exciting time to take on the leadership of our Prep School. Having recently led a successful restructuring of the College to incorporate the Pre-Prep into the Prep School, we are looking for a dynamic prep or primary school leader to commit themselves to the welfare and progress of children from Nursery to Year 6 and to make the most of the abilities of an experienced and dedicated team of teaching staff.
The Prep School benefits from being part of Ardingly College, a leading co-educational through school for children from Nursery to Upper Sixth. The College has developed a consistent culture, strategy and pedagogy through the schools that help children enjoy their learning and fulfil their potential.
The Prep School is a vital component of the College, and hence, the Head of the Prep School works closely with the Head of College and other senior leaders, as well as with Prep School teachers, to meet the needs of our pupils and achieve our strategic aims. The Head of the Prep School is a member of the College Executive.
Ardingly College looks after the welfare and professional development of all staff and enables them to live and work with a strong sense of purpose and satisfaction. The College provides a collegiate, supportive and stimulating environment in which to work. A generous remission for staff children is available at the College, assuming a place is available and entry requirements are met.
Remuneration is pensionable. From January 2021, the College offered all teachers the Aviva Pension Trust for Independent Schools (APTIS), which provides the teacher with flexibility between salary and pension contributions and includes Death in Service cover of three times salary. Further details regarding our generous employer contribution rate towards the private teachers’ pension scheme are available upon request. We also offer discounted private health care and access to a Health Cash Plan Scheme, giving financial support towards the costs of optical, dental, and medical costs.
During term-time, all staff are provided with a hot or cold lunch from the staff dining room or a grab-and-go option. Staff also have access to a range of additional benefits, such as gym membership, staff swimming, other sports and wellbeing activities and various social events.
The total remuneration offered represents a salary, pension and benefits package that reflects the substantial contribution made by teaching staff towards the success of the College.
