Our client is seeking an experienced and confident Veterinary Surgeon to join their team as a Clinical Director. This role encompasses both leadership and clinical responsibilities within a busy, single site practice located in rural Aberdeenshire. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to manage and lead the practice, ensuring high standards of care and service are provided to their valued patients and clients. Additionally, you will play a key role in improving the sustainable profitability of the practice while coaching and mentoring their team of vet surgeons. Collaboration with the Practice Manager and Area Director in operational responsibilities is a vital aspect of this role.
The practice is purpose-built and offers first opinion companion animal care. The progressive and forward-thinking team is genuinely passionate about working together to provide exceptional veterinary services. As a Clinical Director, you will also have the opportunity to work on clinical caseloads, requiring a keen interest in surgery. At least one dedicated ops day is allocated every week. Further training and certificate study are actively encouraged and supported. The practice holds several accreditations, including RCVS Accreditation, VetGDP, VN Training Practice, and ISFM Cat-Friendly Clinic Accreditation.
The practice facilities include a light and spacious waiting room, 4 consulting rooms (including a dedicated nurse consult room), and 2 operating theatres. Dental x-ray capabilities are available, and ongoing efforts are being made to enhance dental care. The in-house lab is well-equipped with Idexx analyzers and a microscope. Additional equipment such as ultrasound, therapeutic laser, endoscopy, and orthopaedic kit ensure comprehensive veterinary care.
You will be joining a team of 6 dedicated veterinarians, supported by 6 RVN's and 2 VCA's. The clinical team works closely with the Reception team, Practice Administrator, Pharmacy Assistant, and Practice Manager. The practice also boasts a variety of specialists, including a surgery certificate holder, a veterinarian currently pursuing a medicine certificate, and professionals trained in acupuncture, rabbit care, and feline-friendly practices.
The ideal candidate for this role should be an experienced veterinary surgeon who enjoys coaching and mentoring a team. You may already be in a management role or ready to take the next step in your career. The candidate must be RCVS registered and possess confidence in all aspects of first opinion caseloads.

The Rota:
• Full time - Up to 40 hours per week
