Job description

SF Recruitment have partnered with a growing organisation near Tewkesbury who are looking to bring in a Senior Technical Manager from within the events space. This is a really exciting opportunity for someone to join an organisation that operate worldwide, who are innovative, and a leader in their field.

Salary: up to £70k
Working pattern: office based, with regular travel, and weekend work

The Senior Technical Manager will be required to display proactive leadership and management, along with excellent organisational skills, self-discipline, and strong prioritisation skills to work to very strict event deadlines. A solid knowledge of audio-visual equipment & the live events market is essential; the ideal candidate will come from a live event technology background. A strong interest in technology, as well as the willingness to continually update knowledge and skills basis is a must have.

The role is primarily responsible for initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and closing projects. The role will be responsible for specifying technical requirements and equipment for scheduling tasks as well as allocating subcontractor crew and transport. The position will manage and mentor our team of project managers and technicians. The role will have ultimate accountability for quality of delivery and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Ownership & leadership of projects throughout the delivery cycle: -
o Liaise directly with customers.
o Technical problem solving.
o Scheduling of tasks and job allocation.
o Planning & management of resources
o Accountable for quality and operational efficiency.
o Controlling and reporting on individual cost centre budgets & GPM margins.

 Post show reporting of operational efficiency and improvements: -
- Overspend
- Crew & staff working hours.
- Quality of work & delivery

o Prepare Risk & Method statements.
 Maintain a safe working environment in accordance with Health & Safety regulations and any additional procedures required
 Reporting of H&S incidents & improvements.

Office Management
- Lead and assist technical operational & strategic planning with the operations team.
- Lead technical sign off team.
- Advise, help prepare quotes and pitches with sales and account management teams.
- Bond and retain appropriate relationships, to promote correct methodologies, implementation of procedures, and executing them with our staff and our sub-contractors.
- Research & advise on new technologies for capex requirements.
- Willing to assist and work within other departments if required, flexibility and teamwork is key.
- Lead mentor and report 1-2-1 of Project Managers & Technicians
- Assist in annual budgeting projects & Capex requirements
