As you split your time between our main hospital in Gateshead and local branches in Tyne, Sunderland, Wickham & Washington (with all branches bar one performing their own operations), you'll truly get to experience the diverse aspects of our practice and their caseloads!
We're seeking a passionate, RCVS-registered veterinary surgeon to enhance our team dynamic. While we highly value experienced applicants and certificate holders, we're also excited to welcome recent graduates who are dedicated to delivering top-tier patient care.
Contracted to 41 hours per week our vets work on average 37 hours per week across 4 days (Monday-Friday) with an exclusive set day off during the week, we do our own OOH and have OOH vets for this, however we do have a weekend shared rota of 1:6 full weekend (7:45am-6:15pm) and 1:6 Saturday mornings (9am-12pm) that you will cover with no nightshift commitments! Weekend hours are negotiable for part time candidates.

Rest easy knowing that our RCVS-accredited Veterinary Hospital in Gateshead stands ready with a dedicated night team for 24-hour emergency coverage. This ensures that you can maintain seamless case continuity for hospitalised patients while enjoying a break from nightshift rota duties.

Boasting 16 Veterinary Surgeons, 22 RVNs, 3 SVNs, 10 auxiliary nurses, and 11 receptionists across our branches, you'll be immersed in a dynamic learning environment. Many of our vets hold certificates in specialties like surgery, cardiology, and diagnostic imaging. We encourage frequent case discussions, ensuring you'll always have someone to exchange insights with and receive valuable advice.
