Williams Shipping is a diverse marine and logistics business, established in 1894. Based in Southampton, but with offices in Pembroke and Aberdeen, we pride ourselves in always providing a first class service to our customers and working to the mantra of “where there’s a will, there’s a way.”

We work for a broad range of customers in industries including marine and shipping, energy & power and construction. We are now looking for a motivated, dynamic, and friendly professional to join us as a Marketing Manager, to oversee and build our marketing team.

The ideal candidate will be ambitious, and an enthusiastic team player, with a passion for the industries we work in, with an entrepreneurial flair to develop our marketing department.

You will be responsible for creating and executing our B2B and B2C marketing strategy. You will lead our marketing campaigns, evaluate our marketing performance metrics, and collaborate with internal teams. You will be supported by a marketing assistant and will be responsible for leading and developing their role. You will have a strong marketing background with excellent communication skills and attention to detail and be able to manage the complexities that come with a group operating multiple businesses across a variety of locations.

Responsibilities

• Create and deploy a marketing strategy for all business units within the group.
• Conduct market research and identify new customers in order to support business development activities.
• Define and execute the marketing and communication activities according to our marketing plan
• Communicate with senior management about marketing initiatives and project metrics, as well as brainstorm fresh strategies
• Coordinate all marketing activities to generate leads
• Proactive collaboration with other teams to produce marketing campaigns
• Leverage marketing resource to build the company brand across all channels.
• Inform customers and prospects of products and services through creative marketing strategies
• Set and manage the group’s marketing budget
• Ensure brand consistency across all platforms and marketing collateral.
• Work with and manage marketing agencies and freelancers
• Track performance of all marketing campaigns
• Travel regularly between the various sites in Southampton and occasionally to the company’s Pembroke and Aberdeen sites

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Ideally in marketing)
• 3+ years’ experience in marketing
• Superior presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent organisational skills, with emphasis on priorities and goal setting
• Experience of managing a small team
• Ability to multi-task
