Job description
What you will do in your working day
- To communicate and engage with children and support their speech and language development using different methods i.e. Makaton, Pecs
- To communicate effectively with members of the Nursery Team
- To welcome parents to the nursery in a cheerful and friendly manner
- Operate a programme of activities suitable to the age range of children in your area in conjunction with other staff
- To support the maintenance of objective, accurate and up-to-date records which identify children’s individual needs, abilities and progress and use these as a basis for future planning
- To maintain a basic up to date knowledge of child development and the early years curriculum
- Ensure each child is collected by someone known to the setting
- To actively promote and support the safeguarding of children and young people in the workplace, ensuring setting policies and procedures are observed at all times
- To develop your role within the team especially with regard as a key worker
- Support all staff and engage in a good staff team
- Record accidents in the accident book
The training you will be getting
- Early Years Educator Apprenticeship Standard (Level 3) across the 16-19 months apprenticeship program, with the support of your work place mentor and your LMP Education tutor
- (LMP Education are rated the 3rd best training provider in the UK)
