Production Operator - Abingdon Flooring

Job description
Focused Recruitment are currently working in partnership with our client Abingdon Flooring who are a well known, leading carpet manufacturing company with their plant based in the Blackwood area (Pen Y Fan Industrial Estate).
Abingdon employ a total workforce of over 300 people and have the capacity to produce over 15 million square metres of carpet every year, that's enough to get you to Argentina and back every year. Very much an employer of choice within the local area with a rich welsh heritage.
Duties of the role will include:
- Operating various production machinery / equipment across the manufacturing plant.
- Loading and unloading of product to and from production machinery.
- Quality assessment / visual inspection of finished goods
- Packing of finished product.
- Working within a process driven environment working to production KPI's and targets.
- Overseeing full production process from start to finish.
- Setting production machinery, ensuring machines are running to optimum capacity.
The desired candidates will have:
- Be able to work to KPI's & production schedules.
- Be able to work as part of a team.
- Previous experience operating production machinery.
- Knowledge of health and safety in the work place.
Hours of work include:
Monday Friday on a 3 shift rotational pattern consisting of days, nights and afternoons. No weekends.
- Days 06:00am 14:00pm
- Afternoons 14:00pm 22:00pm
- Nights 22:00pm 06:00am
