L3Harris in Tewkesbury and Fleet are part of our ICI division, we work closely with UK Government and Security Agencies primarily in the areas of crypto/cyber security, electronic warfare, counter drone capabilities and situation awareness projects.
We are looking for an Installation Support Engineer to join our Technical Services Team. You will be required to take responsibility for the installation of ICI EMEA’s products and services, as well as assist in commissioning, and providing technical support to existing and potential customers in the UK and overseas on System Electronics, Radio Frequency, and IT-related ICI EMEA products and services. There will also be opportunity to take an active role in the bid process, requirements capture and design of future systems.
Please note, this role does require travel to customers both overseas and in the UK – to be discussed further on application.

What the role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
- Lead site surveys to ascertain infrastructure and installation requirements
- Undertake installation planning and execution to ensure equipment is installed safely and in accordance with infrastructure policies, whilst ensuring correct operation – including stability studies, weight & loading considerations, point loading & floor bearing weight, power consumption, electrical safety, heat output, and environmental conditions
- Plan and execute system builds within project timeframes
- Produce rack and cabling layout / designs to defined standards using Auto-CAD
- Produce, amend, and maintain project documentation to defined standards
- Assist in aspects of commissioning, delivery and deployment of products/systems and upgrades, including taking part in the Factory and System Acceptance, as well as providing technical assistance during the deployment phase
- Provide technical support and assistance for customer delivery projects and deployed systems
- Prepare documentation/training material and assist with customer training
- Provide support to other functional areas where required, including supplying technical documentation to support bid preparations, offering advice/guidance to support technical decision making on specific projects
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of company systems/products by understanding the customer’s needs and wants
What you’ll bring
The role of Installation & Support Engineer requires the following experience and skills:
- 3 Years+ experience working in an installation / infrastructure support role
- Ability to plan and execute installations whilst conforming to safety standards, system requirements, and customer requirements
- Exceptional standard of technical and computer literacy
- Excellent practical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, to develop effective partnerships and relationships in a multi-discipline environment
- Strong team player who is flexible, adaptable, and able to multi-task
- Self-motivated learner who must be able to identify their own training requirements, and have the willingness to be
- Understanding of system integration of multiple sub-systems and devices – desirable
- Understanding of RF and Data communications systems – desirable
