We are looking to recruit an experienced social worker with the right knowledge, skills, and values, to be a part of our journey to help us shape the delivery of services for children with a disability and their families in Middlesbrough.

This is a very exciting time for Children's Services in Middlesbrough, and we are seeking exceptional people to help us deliver our transformation for the children and families of Middlesbrough. Currently we have a social work opportunity within our Children with Disabilities 0 -18 Service.

Ofsted Feedback from 2023 Inspection stated that,

‘Assessments and plans for disabled children are noticeably stronger. Children with complex needs are well supported through effective planning and intervention. Families and partner agencies contribute well to assessments and plans, resulting in appropriate support being provided.’

Whilst we welcome applications from experienced social workers with experience of working with Children with Disabilities. We also welcome applications from those wishing to move into our area of practice. As long as you have a passion for working with our most wonderful and vulnerable children you could be perfect for us.

Full Induction programme will be provided into the CWD Service and extensive training offered.

You will be registered with Social Work England and prepared to work in various locations in Middlesbrough.

CWD Social workers in Middlesbrough benefit from:

Manageable and varied caseloads averaging 17 children.

Senior Practitioners delivering parenting and support packages.

In House Occupational Therapy service.

Short Break service who manage short breaks packages.

To help us recruit social workers who are committed to working in Middlesbrough we are currently offering a 15% supplement to social work salaries.  This additional 15% will be reviewed at the end of October 2024.
