Job description
We are currently looking for a Trustee to join our experienced team of 5 Trustees of Citizens Advice Fareham. Helping the people of Fareham since 1942 with impartial, independent, confidential and free advice.
What will you be doing?This role is open to those who wish to work with us remotely, although face to face attendance at 4 board meetings a year and the AGM is a minimum requirement.
Working independently you would:
We are looking for someone who is able to :
set policy and strategy direction, set targets and evaluate the performance of the local Citizens Advice
have experience of fundraising for charities or not for profit organisations
understand and accept the responsibilities and liabilities as trustees
be non-judgmental and respect views, values and cultures that are different to your own
have good listening, verbal and written communication skills
be able to exercise good independent judgment
be willing to learn about and follow the Citizens Advice aims, principles and policies, including confidentiality and data protection
be willing to undertake training in your role
seek the views of all sections of the community and monitor how well the service meets the needs of the local community
ensure that the service plans for the equitable and diverse recruitment and turnover of staff and volunteers
review its own work and how effectively it operates including action for improvement
