Job description

Promote and support the effective collection and use of data, information, knowledge, and technology, to aid the clinical teams in Oxford and the increasing number of outreach centres in the management of the patients, To improve the websites and publicity of these services, To inform the delivery of high quality innovative clinical care and outcomes for patients suffering with these rare conditions. To ensure the monthly manual data commissioning submissions are accurate and available to the clinical team and NHS England and populated within the annual report. The data analyst will support a more digital/faster approach regarding data collection. The post holder will be responsible for co-ordinating the collection of NMO/CMS related data from the local site and outreach sites. To collaborate with the other NMO & CMS centres in order to compare and align service standards and reporting structure, and justify the commissioning of these services. To align the NMO and CMS databases across laboratory and clinical teams. Collect, analyse, develop, interpret, and present health research and audit information to a high standard using statistical software and techniques To work closely with the clinical and management team to continuously improve and maintain efficient administrative and data management systems. Be responsible for coordination of data input by the team in an accurate and timely manner ensuring that all data management conventions are adhered to. To ensure and maintain records in accordance with Good Clinical Practice and Data Protection Act to ensure patient confidentiality. To prepare data updates to present at regular in-house meetings. To perform other tasks as required by the Clinical Lead of the Oxford NMO & CMS services. To assist the NMO & CMS clinical team in the preparation of progress reports on individual projects and proactively resolve logistical and other issues in order to facilitate progress according to agreed timelines. To assist the Service Manager in the scheduling of annual leave and breaks in order to allow continual cover of the Oxford centre. WORKING PRACTICE: Support the clinical and administrative team to ensure that the running of research and audit studies complements patient clinical care. Deliver presentations to organisational and regional meetings when necessary. Be a positive ambassador when representing the organisation. Be fully conversant and compliant with the Data Protection Act, IT Security Policy and other Trust oversight required for clinical research systems. Be fully conversant and compliant with the National regulatory bodies requirements (HRA) for conducting clinical research. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES To operate under own initiative with management from clinical leads Deal with complicated enquires regarding data collection and patient pathways from members of the local and regional MDTs To support the lead consultant and nurse specialists in other service developments relating to NMO & CMS. Designing and updating web pages to publicise the NMO & CMS services. Any other duties deemed appropriate as the service develops. The post holder must at all times respect patient confidentiality and in particular, the confidentiality of electronically stored personal data in line with the requirements of the Data Protection Act. Abide by all Statutory and Trust policies and procedures. Attend mandatory training courses as identified through individual performance review. Participate in individual performance review in regular supervision sessions as agreed
