Job description

The core purpose of Venue Reading is to balance delivering event support services to our internal customers with generating revenue for the University by selling events space to our external customer base. The team pride themselves on delivering excellent events, services and facilities. We are committed to supporting the strategic principles of the University in promoting quality of both campuses and the physical learning environment.

Venue Reading and Henley are a professional events service team offering a wide variety of venues, hosting a range of events including day and residential meetings and conferences, functions and celebrations, B&B accommodation and summer schools. The role will be based within the Venue Reading team at Whiteknights Campus in Reading.
The post holder will, with the support and guidance of the Event Manager, generate and supervise the conference, events and function business. This involves ensuring that all events are developed with optimum efficiency and profitable utilisation of the University’s facilities in harmony with the core academic priorities of the University. The role involves coordinating a variety of events to maximise revenue generation for the University by matching client requirements to University facilities.

Qualities, experience and skills we are looking for include but are not limited to the following:

- Experience in Event Coordination
- Experience in Customer Service environment – customer facing roles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to prioritise workload and stick to deadlines
- Attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills
