Job title: Personal Assistant (PA)
Reporting to: The Employer
Location: Wednesfield, Wolverhampton WV11
Job purpose:
To assist with a variety of tasks which will assist the person who needs care and support to live their personal and social life according to their wishes and interests.
About the employer:
Our client is an 11-year-old male living in the WV11 area of Wednesfield, Wolverhampton. Our client is looking to recruit a Personal Assistant to join their team to provide support on weekends, including school holidays.
Our client is Autistic and non-verbal. Our client currently uses Makaton and a grid talker and writing as his form of communication. Our client has good independence skills and enjoys doing household chores, playing the garden, baking and doing sticker & colouring books.
Main duties:
Social duties
keep in touch and socialise with family and friends.
support with educational learning such as maths and phonics.
support with sensory play.
do hobbies such as swimming, Airea5.
support to access the local community.
These duties may vary from day-to-day.

Specific requirements: someone with knowledge of working with children with special educational needs. Can communicate using Makaton. Must be a driver.
Hours of work: 16 hours per month
Rate of pay: £11.30 per hour
Skills, qualifications, and experience
Essential:
driving licence
car and appropriate insurance
knowledge of working with children with special educational needs
able to swim

Preferred:
computer literate
good communicator
a good listener
ability to support people with complex care & support needs.
Successful applicants will require DBS checks & Employment References.
This role is funded by the Local Authority and is paid 4 weekly.
