An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Academy as Lead Physiotherapist. This is a full-time position and a crucial part of the Academy’s success
The Lead Physiotherapist is to lead the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of all Academy players, contributing to ensure all aspects of the Elite Performance Plan (EPPP) criteria are met, with direct responsibility for medical provisions for the Academy

Job Purpose
To assist enable Newport County AFC to provide performance support to the academy to assist player progression

Role Responsibilities & Key Duties
1
Responsible for implementing he vision and philosophy for the Performance Support Department
2
Assist and support departments of the academy including Sports Science, Medicine, Psychology, Nutrition & Analysis
3
Manage the Sports Therapists & set and monitor the department’s KPIs and ensure they are being maximised.

Ensure delivery of performance screening, testing, and profiling across the departments.

Provide medical feedback to all academy staff in the 12-week reviews.

Support on delivery for the development programme when required
7
Support on deliver of treatment to injured players when needed
8
Plan and deliver CPD to coaches, parents, and players regarding key areas in performance support

Manage a network of performance support interns throughout the season, providing continued support and guidance

Provide feedback to coaches

Work with 1 st team staff, Academy Manager and Sporting Director to link and align the Academy Performance Support Department to the 1 st team and club philosophy .

Ensure the implementation of data recording and provide insights for improved player performance .

Work collaboratively with players, parents/guardians & staff

Sound knowledge of manual therapy skills and sports rehabilitation
15
Sound knowledge of injury prevention methods and recover strategies
About The Candidate
Person Specification
BSc qualification in Physiotherapy
X
Working towards an MSc in Sports Science, Sports Performance Analysis, or similar discipline
X
A registered Physiotherapist member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and CSP
X
ITMMiF or equivalent
X
Working towardw FA Advanced Trauma Medical Management in Football or an equivalent or higher qualification approved by the Board (if they are a registered physiotherapist member of the HCPC or a registered medical practitioner)
X
IT skills which should include video-editing skills and competence of using Microsoft Office
X
Ability to meet deadlines

A strong work ethic

Committed to completing work to a high quality

Valid DBS or be willing to undertake this check
