Home Port Operations Executive
Salary up to £28,000
12-month fixed term role
FT 35 hours per week
Hybrid working, 2 days per week in Ashford
We are looking for a Home Port Operations Executive to join our Marine & Technical Port Operations team within our award-winning Cruise business. If you’re looking for a dynamic administrative role – look no further! You will be a coordinator for our port representatives, who will be responsible for ensuring a smooth operation and an exceptional embark and debark experience for our guests. This hands-on role comes with operational responsibility and requires undertaking all relevant administrative tasks relating to the port operations for our cruise and travel holidays.
You will be integral to home port operations which will include occasional visits to our ports (Dover and Portsmouth). You will support our home port turnarounds as well as the preparation and administration required for each turnaround, liaising with external and internal parties and colleagues.
This role is available from April and will be for a fixed term of 12 months.

You will be required to occasionally visit either the Dover or Portsmouth port for our turnaround days. For these days, necessary travel will be expensed.

The purpose of this role is to support in the coordination of our port representatives who will be based at port in either Dover or Portsmouth.
Creating and managing the port representative's rota for each turnaround, including collating hours, forward planning, expenses and maintaining effective communication with port representatives
Co-ordinating home port operations to ensure smooth disembark and embark
Working with onboard colleagues and the ship clearance officers and guest services directors, in particular to resolve query logs
Working with the shore-based car team to ensure efficient operation
Actioning all administrative turnaround grids and paperwork
Pre and post reporting for each turnaround and acting on data and trends
Driving continuous improvement of the port operation for exceptional experiences for the guests, including reviewing and acting on customer feedback and quality scores
Ability to be flexible with work schedule, including the ability to travel to home ports is critical. Whilst this role is 35 hours per week, you must be able to travel to Dover and Portsmouth Port when ships are home porting.
Access to a vehicle is important as turnaround days can start early and it's not possible to rely on public transport
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
High level of attention to detail and a methodical approach to organisation and time management
Ideally experience in a technical administrative role or similar
High level of numeracy and literacy skills
Competency in Excel and good knowledge of office programs
Confident and pragmatic
Port operations knowledge ideal (basic level desirable)
High level of attention to detail
Empathetic with a passion for guest satisfaction
