Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

This role provides key support to the SM, Financial Reporting with main activities, delivering a high standard of external financial reporting and internal control framework. Supporting the quarterly and annual financial reporting to NASDAQ, maintaining high compliance to SOX controls. Ensuring correct accounting treatment and enabling process improvements as required within Financial Reporting, to support a complex, fast changing and growing organisation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Accountable for quarterly and annual external reporting and interim month end. Supporting in the process and preparation of numbers covering all aspects of the profit and loss and balance sheet. Reviewing underlying numbers with FR Manager.
o Working with the business to ensure complete and accurate numbers across areas of ownership with primary ownership for enabling and supporting other business areas.
o Supporting on the external audit process providing key support to the SM, Financial Reporting by project managing the external audits across the Group and ensuring they are undertaken to time and issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner. This requires working with Senior Leaders across the organisation.

• Responsible for some SOX controls across financial reporting ensuring they are fit for purpose and maintain high compliance both in execution and underlying process documentation and finance manual.

• Responsible for the intercompany accounting for the European based entities, including transfer of inventory and cross-charging of management fees.

• Responsible for the accounting for UK loan interest and reconciling balances each month, for both external loans and EU subsidiaries.

• Responsible for owning the UK fixed assets register, including responsibility for reviewing and approving asset additions, disposals and transfers to a high level of compliance. In addition:
Executing monthly depreciation of all assets.
Reconciling the full fixed asset register, across the group to NetSuite.
Carrying our impairment reviews and audits.

• Responsible for enabling continuous process improvements and simplification across Finance through identifying and implementing changes ensuring data integrity in a complex Financial Reporting environment is maintained. Requires ability to clearly communicate complex matters to a broad range of Finance team members to ensure successful implementation.

• Responsible for the review and reconciliation of the UK and EU subsidiary prepayment balances. This includes monthly reconciliation, including reviewing and checking for accuracy.

• Other activities include,
o Ownership of completing UK government and ONS returns on a timely basis.
o Balance sheet reconciliations, where required.
o Adhoc support and analysis for the SM.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Experience & knowledge

Essential
• Finalist or Qualified accountant.
• Solid financial accounting knowledge.
• Experience of ERP system
• Controls implementation
• Ability to liaise confidently with internal and external stakeholders
• Project management
• Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.

Desirable
• External reporting experience and good understanding of statutory accounts, interim and annual report preparation (can be obtained either in practice or industry).

Education & qualifications

• Qualified or finalist, studying towards ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent. Exception QBA may be considered.
