Job description
The post holder will provide an effective, efficient and professional materials management service to CDDFT stakeholders, including the receipt, safe storage, custody, distribution of stock, product returns, recalls, stock takes etc. The post holder will manage the day to day operation of the materials management service and the staff within it, ensuring all complaints and / or queries are dealt with in a timely and professional manner. The post holder will manage and motivate the materials management team by working closely with them and providing cover as and when required. The post holder will manage the Absence and Cover matrix for their site. The post holder will manage a portfolio of materials management KPIs, including monthly reporting to the Procurement Depts senior management team. Responsible for the enforcement and ongoing review of standard operating procedures for materials management. The post holder will provide support and guidance that relates to materials management (including ward reviews, stock management and cash improvement projects). Organise and plan workloads to ensure objectives and targets are achieved within agreed timescales/KPIs. Link officer for NHS Supply Chain regarding materials management stock. The post holder will proactively manage the materials management ward and theatre review programme, supporting and advising ward/theatre managers on stock management, consistency and cost improvement opportunities. The post holder will lead on and support on projects and changes to processes. To be fully conversant with Trust SFIs, operational policies and procedures to ensure all purchases comply with relevant guidance. The post holder will support and develop materials management staff. The post holder will be responsible for achieving individual agreed targets and leading the materials management team in the delivery of wider agreed savings targets and objectives. The post holder will chair materials management team meetings and attend wider Procurement Depts stakeholders meetings to support an effective materials management service. A degree of initiative is also required to perform searches in the relevant purchasing systems e.g. tracing requisitions and deliveries. Leads the identification of process efficiencies to continually improve service provision. Participates in audit programs, internal and external when required. Works closely with all procurement, purchasing and materials management staff. The post holder will provide NHS Supply Chain management reports to all Procurement Dept stakeholders and ensure that such skills are developed across the team. The post holder must communicate politely and professionally at all times with all internal and external Procurement Dept stakeholders. Responsible for maintaining a clean, tidy and safe R&D area with all products stored avoiding accidents to persons or goods Responsible for Ward Stores Teams The post holder will regularly review Ward Stock and identify efficiencies Responsible for the PPE Materials Management Officers and ensuring PPE is distributed on and off site in accordance with processes and procedures. To regularly review PPE reports and ensure data is correct. Ensure PPE stock levels are maintained consistently across the CDDFT estate Ensure PPE storage is managed appropriately General The above list is not exclusive or exhaustive; the post holder is expected to be co-operative and flexible in line with the needs of the post, department and the needs of the business. Must be able to travel cross site to meet the requirements of the post.
