Site Engineer, Groundworks (1) Ref: 6081

Type: Contract / Freelance

Based in: Heathrow

Salary: £185 - £200 per shift, CIS, negotiable, PAYE option

Site Engineer, Groundworks, Drainage, Services, substructure RC experience, degree qualified, 1-2 years relevant experience. Commercial scheme, Groundworks & Civils contractor, £2.5m scheme, near Heathrow, T5. £185-£200 per shift CIS. Own transport an asset to access site offices.

Site Engineer for a Groundworks / Civils Contractor. Competent setting out engineer to deal with drainage, services, and roads. Accurate record keeping and paperwork are essential. Site based, also producing as-built drawings. Instrument on site TS16. Must be able to use CAD to produce as built models and drawings. Able to look after QA and do the associated paperwork, to be trained up in the systems that are required at Heathrow. Long term potential in this role.

Site Engineer. The Role includes:

Providing all setting out information to the foreman and site staff.

Going through drawings, checking for amendments, and identifying any discrepancies.

Working with the Project Manager to organise daily work activities.

Assisting the Foreman and workforce with technical information / resolution.

Doing as-builts of completed works.

Calling-off materials as required.

Supervising testing and signing off work as and when completed.

Keeping a daily diary.

Taking photos of all on-site works and activities.

The Company is a Contractor working in the aviation, civil and utility sectors and their Scope of Works on this Groundworks project includes:

Excavation

Substructure integrity

Groundworks

Drainage, External Works

Hard and soft landscaping

Site Engineer. You will have worked for long periods with current and previous employers. Ideally a technical or Civil Engineering tertiary qualification, but above all an ability to assess the practical problems and solutions to carrying out the work. Fully IT conversant, you will have good oral and written communication skills. You should have a practical background and are likely to have at least 1-2 years setting out experience in Groundworks & RC. You should be conversant with robotic Leica equipment, well versed in current Health & Safety legislation.

Qualifications and Health & Safety. Civil Engineer qualified. You will be expected to promote a strong Health & Safety culture. Relevant CSCS card essential, SSSTS or SMSTS an advantage. You must be competent in AutoCAD and would be expected to have your own laptop with CAD installed.

Rate. £185-200 per day UTR, negotiable. PAYE option. References will be required.
