GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Compensation Operations Lead is responsible for coordinating and providing oversight of day-to-day business functions of the Compensation group and other HR groups where needed. Responsible for overseeing and maintaining databases, job description library, and the ticketing system.
This position is responsible for management and planning for HR Compensation services, programs and initiatives and the implementation, administration, and analysis of these programs. Manage the workflow on confidential compensation inquiries and projects, develop annual HR Services program calendars and timelines, and monitor the performance and analytics on the compensation services and programs. This position will work closely with HR Leadership and HR Department Managers to design, monitor, and implement new and existing compensation programs/projects.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages the programs and initiatives within Compensation at UMass Chan Human Resources department.
- Performs analysis of compensation operational activity data and trends, to uncover and diagnose process improvement opportunities, and develop exhibits that summarize findings and recommendations.
- Lead the implementation of a ticking system to track job evaluations and others compensation requests. May assist in rolling out other models within People Strategies.
- Compiles data, statistics, develops narrative, formats report for final review by Leadership. Identify trends or concerns.
- Ensures that the Compensation website content and policies are reviewed periodically and coordinates the process to update materials, as necessary.
- Oversees program RFPs and vendor contracts.
- Creates and updates detailed HR program documentation and project plans.
- Participate in special projects that support other People Strategies programs and activities.
- Perform other related duties as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in business administration, human resources, management, or related field; or equivalent.
- 3+ years of HR experience performing compensation, administrative management and/or operations management; preferably in a large organization with multiple departments or units.
- Demonstrated ability to manage operations, processes, and workflow to achieve units goals and deliverables.
- Strong analytic skills and proven competence in independent problem solving.
- Excellent communication, both oral and written.
- People skills are necessary to interact successfully with a wide range of individuals.
- Ability to articulate and demonstrate commitment to the philosophy, values mission, and vision of UMass Chan Medical School.
- Knowledge of project management principles helpful.
- Demonstrated time management and critical thinking skills with the ability to organize and prioritize workload.
