Classroom Assistant

Teaching personnel are looking for a Classroom Assistant to join the team working with a range of children and young people with additional needs. The successful candidate will be working with learners from both the primary and secondary phase of the school with a range of additional needs including Autism, Down's Syndrome, Behavioural Needs, Speech and Language Needs and Sensory Impairments etc. This role will be situated within the Newport Area.

The school thrives themselves in offering an alternative approach to learning, which includes practical, vocational lessons as well as academic. They feel it is important to ensure all types of learners, whether that be kinaesthetic or visual learners are assisted to the best of their abilities.

The successful applicant does not need to have a Teaching Assistant qualification however experience supporting people with additional needs is desirable. It is essential the Classroom Assistant is confident and proactive in class and able to work well in a team environment.

Contract Information:

Type: Full Time (Monday to Friday)

Pay rate: £11.85 per hour

Hours: 8.30am - 3.30pm

Location: Newport, Wales

Start Date: 8 th April

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
