Position: Senior Controls Engineer

Location: Commutable from Cambridge, Spalding, Kings Lynn, Norwich, Thetford, Boston, Peterborough and Huntingdon

Remuneration: c£50,000 - c£60,000 (depending on experience) during a 40-hour workweek with an early finish on Fridays.

We have a global presence, serving customers in Europe, the USA, South America, and the Far East, providing design, manufacturing, supply, installation, and commissioning expertise with precision and timeliness. Due to our sustained success and continuous growth, we are currently seeking two talented Senior Controls Engineers to contribute to our ongoing success and progress.

Responsibilities:

• Take a leadership role in projects from inception to completion, overseeing design and engineering for motor controls and automated systems.
• Develop Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and related design documentation.
• Generate precise quotations and estimates for substantial projects.
• Specify and design hardware solutions in compliance with relevant standards (UKCA/CE/UL) using E-plan and AutoCAD, covering full electrical schematics, control panel enclosure layouts, and backplate layouts.
• Design PLC & HMI solutions, including code writing, configuration, and testing.
• Collaborate with clients, suppliers, sub-contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Lead during Integration and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
• Maintain regular communication with production to ensure the delivery of a quality product to the client.
• Provide post-installation and call-out support.
• Undertake general project engineering and management duties.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum HNC/HND qualification in Electrical/Control Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Exceptional technical writing, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work in a team.
• Customer-focused with a determined attitude.
• Positive energy and a proactive attitude.
• Strong problem-solving skills, highly motivated, and excellent communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with excellent organisational skills.
• Valid driver's license and capability to drive company vehicles.
• Willingness to work outside regular hours on certain occasions.
• Openness to obtaining additional certifications/qualifications if required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• High standard of English.
• Willingness to travel when required.
