The School of Medicine is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Technical Assistant to work as part of a dynamic and supportive team.

You will be required to work within the School of Medicine, providing support across our research and teaching facilities. You will be responsible for general laboratory maintenance, including routine care of equipment and decontamination, sterilisation and disposal of laboratory waste.

As part of the Operations Team, you will occasionally be required to cover reception duties so a courteous supportive manner and good communication skills will be necessary. The postholder would also be required to undertake regular manual handling tasks as identified by the line manager.

Candidates should have NVQ 1/GCSE level D-G or equivalent qualification, or work-related experience. The position will require someone who is comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team environment and is able to adapt to a broad range of duties and challenges in an exciting and rewarding environment

The post will be based on the Heath Park campus.

This post is full-time (35 hours per week), based at Heath Park, is open ended and is available immediately.

Salary: £21,828 - £22,214 per annum (Grade 2).

Appointments to roles at Cardiff University are usually made at bottom of scale unless in exceptional circumstances.
