Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Year-End Accountant to join our clients finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and collaborating with various departments to analyze and reconcile financial data. The Year-End Accountant will play a crucial role in preparing financial statements, coordinating audits, and implementing year-end procedures to support the organization's financial health.
Key Responsibilities:
Year-End Closing:
- Lead the year-end closing process, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to review and analyze financial data for completeness and accuracy.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including the income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows.
- Provide insights into financial performance and trends to support strategic decision-making.
Audit Coordination:
- Liaise with external auditors and facilitate the audit process to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Prepare audit schedules, documentation, and respond to auditor inquiries.
Reconciliation and Analysis:
- Conduct thorough account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Analyze financial data and provide recommendations for process improvements.
Compliance:
- Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and standards.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency in financial reporting and year-end procedures.
- Implement best practices to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA designation or equivalent certification preferred.
- Proven experience in year-end closing processes and financial reporting.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, regulations, and standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
