IT Director
Salary: £80,000 plus comprehensive package
Our client is a privately owned manufacturing company with a clear strategy for growth. Having embarked on a process of investment in technology, an IT Director is sought to advise the board on what the IT strategy needs to be to support the company’s goals for the next 5 years.
This role will join a dynamic board to develop the company’s IT strategy and investment into tangible business improvements and returns.
Significant investment has already been made in a new ERP system which is supported by external consultants and a growing internal team. More is expected of this and the new IT Director will explore and deliver further business improvements and returns. At the same time, further initiatives are being considered with EDI one of the next planned initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the development and implementation of the technology strategies in line with business objectives.
- Lead the overall service provision for IT Support, including performance oversight and partnership with key service and systems suppliers, and IT service management. Own the ERP system, driving its development and exploiting its functionality whilst ensuring its operational efficiency and availability. Provide the primary point of contact, expertise, and leadership across the business for managing information security risk and response – including appropriate policies, processes, and engagement with partners, users, and clients. Develop the IT team to ensure a full service operation is provided, including first line, remote and face to face across all systems and devises (Windows, Mac, printer support etc.) Drive continuous improvement in our processes, security posture and IT offer to users across the team, underpinned by a genuine passion for technology. Ownership and control of the IT departments costs including budget setting
Key Skills and Technical Experience
- The ideal candidate will bring the IT experience and skill required to support this business’s growth objectives and this will have been gained in a manufacturing environment of at least £50M t/o. Specifically, we are looking for someone with the following: Previous experience (>10 years) as an IT Director or Senior IT Manager where the IT strategy has directly contributed to profitable growth. Strong knowledge of IT systems, ERP, infrastructure, and networks. Experience in software development, budget management, IT transformation, and performance improvement. Proven track record of improving processes and business performance through successful delivery of digital transformation programmes. Experience in setting strategy, goals, KPIs, and plans for growth.
