Job description
Junior Data Architect responsibilities are:
- Work alongside senior Data Architects to develop models and plans to drive the execution of a business strategy, taking advantage of opportunities to improve business performance
- Work alongside senior Data Architects to determine requirements and specify effective business processes, through improvements in technology, information or data practices, organisation, roles, procedures and equipment.
- Create and update the documentation of methods and tools
- Collate information and creates reports and insights to support strategy management processes
- Define and manage scoping, requirements definition and prioritisation activities for small-scale changes and assists with more complex change initiatives
- Apply standard data modelling and design techniques based upon a detailed understanding of requirements
- Establish, modify and maintain data structures and associated components
- Investigate data requirements where there is some complexity and ambiguity
- Assess the integrity of data from multiple sources
- Provide advice on the transformation of data from one format/medium to another
Junior Data Architect requirements are:
- Demonstrated aspiration to be a senior Data Architect
- 2 years experience of Data Modelling, Master Data, working with senior Architects and senior Data Architects
- Ability to capture hazy reality and shape it to a structured useful foundation
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills to convey complex findings to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Experience of working with EA tools such as Erwin and SPARX
- Ideally will have worked supplier side and client side
About the Junior Data Architect position
We are looking for a junior Data Architect to work alongside senior Data Architects in a Core Data Team for a large Digital Transformation in a utility company.
We expect you to possess an analytical mindset with a creative approach to tasks and the ability to find patterns and correlations in your work. You should also be able to work flexibly and report on your findings in a detailed and straightforward manner.
