MacKenzie King are recruiting a Purchase Ledger Controller for a fast growth, ambitious, and industry leading business, based in Ipswich. As a Purchase Ledger Controller you will be responsible for posting the supplier account transactions, with records maintained in an accurate and timely manner including purchase orders records. You will work closely with wider business teams and ensure any discrepancies are resolved as required, offering the best level of customer service across the business.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Ensuring all elements within the purchase to pay process is administered and maintained in a complete, accurate and timely manner
- Completion of the month end reporting pack for the purchase ledger close routine for month end sign off
- Ensuring managers are up to date with any actions required and highlighting issues to senior management
- Working with the finance team and other colleagues as needed, to ensure smooth running of all accounts-related purchase processes across the business.
- Be the expert on the purchase to pay process and supporting the wider business as needed
- Monitor and suggest improvements in the purchase to pay process as needed
- Reconciling supplier statements
- Maintaining the supplier email box and responding to supplier queries as needed
- Assisting other finance team members as and when required
- Supporting the Financial Controller with any annual audit or other supplier reporting requirements
- Other ad hoc duties as assigned by the Financial Controller
Qualifications and experience
- You will have a minimum of one years’ experience working in a related finance role, with experience of the purchase ledger, cash book and reconciliations
- Knowledge of the purchase to pay process from start to finish across the business and how the finance team and other departments impacts this
- Ideally be studying towards a professional accountancy qualification, such as AAT level 3 or above
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proven ability to manage and prioritise a heavy workload
- IT proficient, with a good understanding of MS Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams) and ERP systems
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to investigate and resolve issues
