Job Title - Project Manager
Salary - £50,000 - £55,000 - OTE 75k +
Benefits – remote working, up to £100 per month contribution to office costs, private healthcare, contributory pension, 23 days Annual leave + statutory Bank holidays + birthday off
Must have permanent citizenship & able to work in the UK on a permanent basis.
Job & Department Summary
Working under moderate supervision, Project Managers are responsible for the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and successful completion of multiple system implementation and change projects. Working with our clients, this position manages the execution of assigned implementation service needs, utilising a methodical approach to planning and guiding project processes from start to finish. Project Managers will also create and execute both internal and client communication strategies, driving overall customer relationships by pro-active involvement and ongoing contact.
Essential Functions
- Create a comprehensive Implementation Project Plan, including a Scope Statement, Risk Register, and Task Register
- Play a key part in the sprint planning process to ensure project requirements are allocated and logged in internal systems
- Implement and maintain project schedule, project documents, and meeting notes
- Identify project stakeholders and stakeholder requirements and negotiate project governance rules with these key individuals
- Manage all project change and scope creep utilising the change request process
- Work with development, testing teams, and/or management to determine resource needs and availability
- Perform appropriate and timely follow-up with both the customers and internal areas to ensure the project plan is progressing as scheduled, conduct meetings when necessary
- Provide recommendations and communications for mid-course adjustments, act as the primary negotiator for conflict resolution
- Maintain time-keeping records for all project resources that will be used in client billing
- Develop and maintain robust implementation/project lifecycle and repeatable process
- Maintain accurate project status reporting across all active projects
- Utilise generally accepted/recognised project management methodology and practices
- From time to time, assist in Business Analysts and Quality Analyst project needs
- Pursues a self-development program through selected reading, seminars, and participation in continuing education.
- Identifies and communicates possible improvements in the work process for customers and peers.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the immediate manager or management team.
Key Performance Outcomes
- Manage triple constraint of Time, Cost, and Scope of all assigned projects; anticipate and escalate potential variances when appropriate
- Maintain accuracy of data within internal systems, including timekeeping, allocation, story, and UAT issue progress for active projects and resource allocation across assigned projects
- Maintain accurate documentation of all projects and processes
Required Skills & Experience
Education: Diploma / Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree preferred (in Business, Project Management, Insurance, or Organisational Behaviour) or equivalent
Experience: 3+ years of work experience in project management, consultancy, technology company, or management/technical consulting
Technical / Functional Skills:
- Strong technical competence in software development technologies and in-depth knowledge of the software delivery life cycle.
- Strong leadership skills; able to develop and motivate a project team
- Outstanding customer relationship management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; solid speaking, facilitation, and presentation skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Highly organised; can handle multiple projects concurrently; demonstrated proficiency in Planning, Needs Assessment, and Project Management
Travel Requirements
Able to travel by car, plane, bus, and/or train when needed approx. 25% of the time
Must have valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
