We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Outreach Support Worker to join our client school's team and contribute to our mission of fostering positive change.
Position Overview: As an Outreach Support Worker, you will be stationed away from the school's main site. Your primary responsibility will be to support pupils who struggle with special educational needs outside of the classroom, enabling them to spend time in the community and grow emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. This role requires a proactive and empathetic approach to outreach, building relationships, and connecting individuals with the necessary resources and services.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular outreach activities to identify and engage with pupils in need of support within the community.
- Build trusting and positive relationships with children, offering emotional support and a non-judgmental approach.
- Assess the needs of individuals and work collaboratively with them to develop personalised support plans.
- Advocate on behalf of pupils to ensure they have access to the appropriate services and support systems.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of pupil interactions and progress.
- Collaborate with other outreach workers, the school inclusion team, and other education professionals to maximise support and resources.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in outreach work or community support is highly desirable but not essential with the right approach and transferable skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to relate to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to work effectively in challenging and dynamic situations.
- Knowledge of local community resources and services.
