Café General AssistantHook, HampshirePart Time, Permanent (22 hours per week)£16,500 per annum plus benefits
Here at Serco, we partner with governments to provide public services across Defence, Justice & Immigration, Transport, Health, and Citizen Services. We are currently recruiting for a Café General Assistant to join our team on a part-time contract. As our Café General Assistant, you will assist the Café Supervisor in overseeing the day-to-day operations in the café. You will be responsible for food preparation, serving on the counter, processing payments, and ensuring that the café is clean and well-presented.
We are looking for individuals with exemplary customer service skills with great knowledge of hospitality and catering.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
- Serve behind café counter and take payments on the till.
- Supervise the day to day running of the Bartley’s café.
- Assist the Café Supervisor with food prep each day for the breakfast, lunch, and the all-day offering.
- Covering for the Café Supervisor during annual leave or sickness, including management of the team.
- Ensure that all health and safety regulations are adhered to.
- Ordering all stock for the café and on-site vending machines.
- Monthly stock checks.
- Receiving and monitoring deliveries.
- Identify strategies to attract and retain customers.
- Ensure that all areas of the café are clean, tidy, and presentable.
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Proven experience of working in the hospitality industry.
- Good knowledge of all health and safety regulations, including food safety.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Strong team player.
- Self-motivated and ability to manage time and priorities well.
- Effective communication skills.
- Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
