The Opportunity
Due to an expansion of the Maintenance team we now have an excellent opportunity for a Workshop Fitter to join our Torr Works Quarry, near Shepton Mallet. You’ll be based at one of Europe's largest super quarries where you’ll be part of a large Maintenance team keeping our operations running.
Your hours will be Monday-Friday 06:00-15:30 where you’ll carry out workshop based tasks for our onsite engineers. Based in the fixed workshop you’ll get underway with fabrication projects as well as building of equipment.
You’ll be responsible for maintaining the engineering stock levels by organising and ordering parts across the bolt room and welding spares section. As well as assembly of kits such as bearing kit’s ready for the wider Maintenance team to fit over the weekends.
With a focus on Health & Safety across our business this role is no different, you’ll carry out all repairs safely and continue to maintain a hazard free environment.
Who you are
You’ll be an existing Mechanical or Workshop Engineer looking to grow your career within Aggregate Industries.
You’ll ideally hold an existing Mechanical Maintenance qualification. However, this is not essential for the role.
You’ll be a competent Welder/ Fabricator and able to follow Engineering drawings for the building of mechanical drive units and vibrating screens.
