Position Information

Cheltenham Girls’ High School with an enrolment of 1458 students, including 69% of students from a non-English speaking background), is a leading comprehensive girls' school with strong traditions. The school has dedicated and highly experienced staff, articulate and involved parents. School strategic directions include strengthening the partnership between the school and the community, supporting curriculum differentiation for all students across all key learning areas and supporting the delivery of high-quality teaching in every classroom.

This position is a full-time Science position for 2024. The position includes 7-10 Science, with a willingness to teach iSTEM. Successful applicant is expected to use ICT, including organisation and maintenance of a Google Classroom. The role involves being an active team player with involvement in whole school activities such as literacy initiatives and sports activities. The position may involve the future delivery of the new course Investigating Science as well as Science Extension in future years .

Specific Selection Criteria

Approval to teach Biology and Earth and Environmental Science.

Ability to employ Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to create an inclusive and accessible educational environment while effectively differentiating teaching and learning methods to enhance educational outcomes for a diverse student population.

Capacity to integrate technology into effective classroom practice and deliver STEM-based innovative teaching and learning strategies.

Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a dynamic faculty.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
