Job description

We are seeking a Senior Family Support Worker for a local authority client based in East London.

As a Senior Family Support Worker, you will work closely with the Families Together Team and partner agencies within Children and Families to plan interventions that will improve outcomes forchildren and young people.

Ab out the role:

You will be tasked with delivering key strategic objectives:

• Provide immediate support and intervention in crisis situations, including liaising with emergency services and other agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of children and families.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of family needs and develop individualised care plans in collaboration with families and relevant professionals.
• Deliver parenting education sessions and workshops to support parents in developing effective parenting skills, promoting positive relationships within the family, and enhancing child development outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions and interventions with families, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and confidentiality requirements.

About you:

The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:

• Experience of working with children and families, particularly in one-to-one settings and within the home.
• Familiarity with child protection issues and joint working with parents and other professionals.
• Proficiency in writing concise and accurate case notes, reports, and conducting group work.

What’s on offer

Salary: £18.50+ per hour *negotiable depending on experience*

*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*

Contract type: 3-6 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension

Hours: Monday – Friday, 36 hours per week
