Job description
The Recruitment Co are currently recruiting for an Operations and Maintenance Manager to work for an established, growing business in the Preston area.
Operations and Maintenance Manager salary: £60,000 (depending on experience)
Operations and Maintenance Manager hours: 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week)

Operations and Maintenance Manager Roles and responsibilities:
- Management and coordination of all activities in accordance with the company's health, safety, environmental & quality management systems, policies, and procedures.
- Manage and maintain safe and healthy working environments, by establishing and enforcing ambitious standards, related procedures, audit, and compliance programmes.
- Management & leadership of all activities and working groups engaged with the operations, in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
- Manage the effective planning, scheduling, and delivery of all operational activities.
- Manage the effective planning, scheduling, and delivery of all planned and reactive maintenance work programmes.
- Preparation and management of budgets, financial forecasting and control, expenditure analysis, identification of variances and initiation of corrective actions.
- Manage the recruitment, selection, training, coaching, appraisal, and counselling of employees.
- Manage effective communication of labour expectations, planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing of labour contributions to the operations.
- Manage and implement appropriate service and supply chain contracts for operational and maintenance requirements.
- Preparation and presentation of management reports.
- Contribute information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews by ensuring the accurate and regular recording, analysing, and reporting of operational and maintenance related performance (KPIs).
- Manage continuous analysis and improvement of organisational processes and workflows, employee and work location requirements, and equipment positioning and layout.
- Transform and maintain the maintenance function from a reactive breakdown operation to proactive preventative maintenance operation by implementing the TPM strategy.
- Manage and investigate cost saving opportunities through innovation, creative thinking, and continuous improvement programmes.
- Manage and control of business risk management programmes.
- Manage and control project programmes of work.
- Management and coordination of external audit processes and corrective follow up actions.
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- Very good experience within operational or maintenance management
- Very good experience in the waste sector or similar processing, manufacturing, industrial environments
- NEBOSH Health & Safety qualifications (General Certificate)
- Recognised Project Management qualification or equivalent experience (i.e. Prince2)
- GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths
- Experience of effectively managing and leading operational and maintenance related activities, resources , and costs
- High levels of experience and knowledge of working within safe systems of work, health, safety and environmental management policies and procedures
- Budgeting and monetary management
- Contract management experience
- Inventory management experience
- Total productive maintenance (TPM)
- BSI ISO audit programmes (9001, 14001 & 45001)
- Report writing
