Mechanical Engineer

Runcorn, Cheshire

Full Time, Permanent

£55,000- £60,000

Monday to Friday- Days (40 hours per week)

Randstad Engineering are currently looking for a mechanically minded outage engineer for an impressive client of ours. They are an Energy from Waste business that specialises in converting non-recyclable waste into renewable energy. Through the use of advanced technologies and sustainable practices, they transform waste materials into valuable resources, reducing landfill waste and minimising environmental impact.

Role Overview:

As an Outage Engineer, your role involves overseeing the coordination and execution of all planned outage activities. You will collaborate with contractors to ensure efficient implementation of tasks and contribute to the formulation of management plans, policies, and procedures.

Working closely with Mechanical, C&I, and Electrical Engineers, you will ensure the successful completion of unforeseen tasks, aiming to optimise plant availability while meeting Health, Safety, Environmental, and Financial objectives.

Requirements:

• Extensive knowledge of mechanical maintenance and engineering within the process or power plants industry.
• Knowledge of pressure parts legislation including inspection, repair methods and steam turbine maintenance and support.
• Experience in Outage Management to successfully deliver work packages to deadlines.
• Experience managing contractors
• Experience in working within Permit to Work and Safe System of Work environments i.e. plant isolations and safety systems.
• Qualified in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Exposure to an energy from waste (EfW) facility/power stations and knowledge of the process would be advantageous and preferred.
