Our Operational planning team has a fantastic new opportunity for a Project Manager to join our successful team here in Livingston.
This role will support the Head of Operational Planning, the Project Manager is responsible for the management and delivery of Valneva Scotland projects from initiation through to completion in line with the project objective, business strategy requirements, timelines and cost (where applicable). Project managers lead, drive and direct activities to support optimal planning and execution of Valneva Scotland Projects in such a way that all parties understand project objectives, progress and deadlines. Providing an interface between Valneva’s technical community, sub-contractors, and other functions the Project Manager ensures that projects adhere to schedules by facilitating the exchange of information and identifying areas of potential slippage and risk, escalating such risks or issues to management. The Project Manager will lead the review of completed projects, ensuring that learning points are captured and actioned in order to drive continual improvement.
Project management duties
- Provide project management support and drive for projects as determined and assigned by the Head of Operational Planning.
- Competent in and adhere to required project management processes.
- Set up and host project kick-off meetings to establish project teams, project scope, goals and timelines for project completion.
- In collaboration with the project team lead create and deliver project plans, revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements in alignment and agreement with the project sponsor and Head of Operational Planning.
- Set up and manage regular project team meetings with internal and external team members.
- Generate and distribute meeting minutes and project progress reports to the team and relevant stakeholders.
- Using the appropriate project management tools maintain and track project performance.
- Manage project progress; coordinate and motivate the project team to ensure project activities remain within scope, challenge the team if necessary to ensure projects stay on track and meet project deadlines.
- Identify potential interdependencies with other projects and their impact; report any project conflicts to sponsor and Head of Operational Planning.
- Plan and schedule project timelines in line with all projects and align with manufacturing activities.
- Identify and manage project risks by escalating issues to the project team, sponsor and Head of Operational Planning.
- Document and report project progress regularly to Head of Operational Planning.
- Plan and manage all project activities in accordance with consideration and adherence to GMP requirements.
- Adhere to appropriate technical and quality procedures.
- Maintain project related documentation; ensuring project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
- Develop and manage internal and external team and stakeholder relationships.
- Work closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the project(s).
- Proactively drive project to completion
- Lead the review of completed projects, ensuring that learning points are captured and actioned in order to drive continual improvement.
- Provide support for generating Operational Planning information reporting to the PRB & QRB meetings.
- Maintain and keep up to date the Operational Planning project commercial contract folders.
- Provide administrative support for project meetings, generating minutes / trackers and following up on actions.
- Provide administrative support for site audit and inspections.
- Generate and present PowerPoint documentation as and when required/requested
- In collaboration the relevant departments, maintain the cell and viral bank reference library.
- Represent the Operational Planning Department for the local change management board.
- Manage Operational Planning QMS documentation within the required timelines and processes.
- To deputise for line manager as appropriate.
- To undertake any other duties as requested by the line manager in accordance with company requirements
Operational planning duties
- Follow and adhere to all company Health and Safety procedures and requirements.
- Follow and adhere to all GMP training requirements.
- Ensure training is 100% in compliance.
- Provide administrative support for the maintenance of the site project register.
Experience
- 3-4 Years Project Management experience.
- Educated to degree level in relevant qualification or relevant experience.
- Experience working within a pharmaceutical environment, understanding and using GMP processes.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft systems; MS project, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
- Strong business knowledge and commercial acumen with the ability to focus and prioritise.
- An effective team player who recognises contribution and input levels required to promote success of the team and meet project deadlines.
