AAK Hull is in the heart of an area enjoying significant redevelopment and investment.

The Port of Hull is being established as a world-class centre for renewable energy and manufacturing, and at AAK we feel proud to be part of this important industrial renaissance for Yorkshire and the UK.

At our recently upgraded site at King George Dock, we operate the UK’s largest refinery for edible oils and fats. We supply businesses in the sectors of food manufacturing, baking, foodservice and retail, and we work closely with customers to co-develop bespoke products.

About the role

AAK are seeking to appoint a Brand Manager, reporting directly into the Global Marketing Director Foodservice.

The successful candidate will be responsible for...

Brand management of our leading UK Foodservice brand Lion; sauces, dressings, mustards and condiments
Brand management of our leading UK Foodservice brand Whirl; butter alternatives

Taking ownership of these brands you will create, manage and implement brand strategies, create and deliver exciting and engagement marketing campaigns using all elements of the marketing mix to drive brand, product category and business growth with AAK Foodservice’s business strategy and objectives.

Brand performance and campaign ROI analysis is vital to this role along with commercial product management, analysis, and recommendations for AAK Foodservice’s total sauces product category.

Key part of the team responsible for identifying new products and product categorises to stretch your brands and AAK’s product portfolio. Developing the business case, working with CI to develop the product range, and creating and delivering the go-to-market strategy, marketing collateral and activation programmes.

Alongside brand management, the role also involves supporting the Global Marketing Director to deliver our AAK Foodservice communications and campaigns across digital channels such as LinkedIn and our Sustainability strategy, focusing on better solutions, better operations, and better sourcing initiatives and business goals.

Responsibilities

  • To work with the marketing team to develop and deliver AAK foodservice and retail marketing strategy, working to a budget and deliver marketing initiatives that has a real impact to the business.
  • Manage and develop brand identity (vision, mission, goals, and strategies) to create a lasting impression among customers, improve product sales and market share.
  • Responsibility for the implementation and delivery of brand strategy into brand plans, brand positioning, traditional and digital marketing initiatives, and integrated campaigns.
  • Management of the product portfolio across your brands.
  • Identify new products and new product categories for the business and your brands creating concept ideas and business cases from market insight right through to implementing go-to market strategies and ROI monitoring on new products / ranges.
  • Delivering key initiatives within AAK Foodservice’s sustainability strategy
  • Liaise with our marketing agencies and other 3rd parties over brand strategy and campaign development.
  • Track, report, and analysis brand performance with understanding on ROI on campaigns to drive brand growth and identify opportunities for growth.

About you

You should also possess the following skills and experience:

  • Excellent brand management experience including creating brand strategies and marketing campaigns with clear objectives, strategy and tactics.
  • Creative flair for marketing communications is required.
  • Organised, proactive, customer- and service-oriented, problem solver.
  • Performance driven, good analytical skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience will be in FMCG or food and beverage production in either B2B, B2C or both is desirable.
  • Educated to degree level in Marketing, Business Studies or equivalent.
  • Able to build and maintain strong working relationships, internally and externally.
  • Proficient on all Microsoft packages.
