Senior SEND Officer - Grade I
This post is to recruit a Senior SEND Officer to oversee the work of the 0-25 Statutory Assessment Service. The post will focus on supporting the team manager and team to address statutory assessments to ensure that they are completed within statutory time scales. The post will oversee the work of SEND Officers and Caseworkers to ensure that the Local Authority meets its statutory duties regarding the production, monitoring and reviewing of all education, health and care needs assessments and statutory plans.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior SEND Officer to join our team. As a Senior SEND Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) receive the support they need to reach their full potential. This is a Grade I role, offering an excellent opportunity for career progression and development within our organization.
Responsibilities
Provide expert advice and guidance on SEND legislation, policies, and procedures to parents, carers, and education professionals.
Conduct assessments to determine eligibility for SEND support and develop personalized education, health, and care plans (EHCPs) for individuals with SEND.
Monitor and evaluate the implementation of EHCPs, ensuring that appropriate support and services are in place.
Collaborate with schools, colleges, and other relevant agencies to coordinate support and interventions for children and young people with SEND.
Lead and mentor a team of SEND officers, providing supervision, training, and support as required.
Stay up to date with developments in SEND legislation, policies, and best practices, and implement changes as appropriate.
Represent the organization in multi-agency meetings and contribute to the development of local SEND strategies.
Requirements
A minimum of [X] years of experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting.
Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, policies, and procedures.
Proven experience in assessing and developing EHCPs for children and young people with SEND.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated leadership abilities, with the capability to supervise and support a team.
Knowledge of relevant IT systems and software for record-keeping and data analysis.
Hours Per Week: 37.00

End Time: 17:00
Pay Per Hour: £22.56
