HR Advisor

The Protective Care Group was established to provide bespoke, tailor-made support for young people with severe and complex needs, particularly those exhibiting highly challenging behaviour. We specialise in providing a level of support that local authorities are often unable to; support that makes a real difference to somebody’s quality of life and future prospects. It means everything to us. 

We care deeply about those in our care and the quality of the services we provide, but we’re also very ambitious and growing quickly across the UK. We’ll double our head-count in the next 12 months, then again the year after, so we can care for more young people.

HR Advisor

We’ve grown quickly but, through sensible investment, we already have superb HR, Welfare, L&D and Recruitment teams in place, but we’ve still got so much we want to achieve. You’ll play such a crucial part in our development, growing your role meanwhile. We’ll work closely to help you achieve your next step. To support our growth, now’s the time for an engaging, experienced, and proactive HR Advisor to join the team. Aligned with our Regional Leads and working alongside our HR Team based in Gloucestershire, you’ll head up HR and ER in the North East of England with support from our administrative and welfare specialists.

Some of the headlines:

• Help others rise to their best by coaching, advising, and supporting a team of regional and team managers on core people topics including development, performance, engagement, absence management, change facilitation and leadership. You’ll help us get better and better at what we do.
• Managing a case-load of complex ER cases, providing guidance and practical support to our team of Managers, supporting them through a range of HR interventions and processes.
• Facilitating and often leading with mediation, disciplinary and grievance proceedings in a kind, considerate but effective way.
• Encouraging and ensuring consistent and appropriate application of HR policies and practices.
• Initially supporting managers with developing their 1-2-1 and employee appraisal skills.
• Helping to identify future talent and work in support of promotions and job role changes.

Requirements

About you:

We’re a collaborative, busy bunch and we have lots of fun, but we get the job done. The most important thing we’re looking for is someone who grasps ‘why’ we do what we do and who wants to make a real difference to others’ lives.

You’ll have solid experience at HR or ER Advisor level and be level 5 CIPD qualified, or equivalent by experience. We employ an entrepreneurial style over corporate red-tape (we work hard to avoid that) so you’ll be able work at pace, communicate with clarity, think creatively, and think ahead. As we grow, things will change, so be ready to roll your sleeves up and get involved with what needs to be done.

In addition to a competitive starting salary in the region of £38,000 to £42,000 p.a. (depending on experience), you’ll receive:
