We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced falconer, preferably with their own birds of prey, to work with our clients in Beaconsfield.

What you will be doing

As an NBC Falconer you will be responsible for using falconry, distress calls, blank guns shots, kites and other methods to prevent scavenging birds from feeding on the waste site and causing nuisance to local neighbours and site staff.

Each site has specific requirements, such as:

Prevent no more than 20 scavenging birds’ access to site for 20 minutes.

Attend site at contracted times.

Fly the birds during the day in a manner which effectively scares and deters nuisance birds.

Provide a minimum of 6 flights per day.

Use all supportive deterrents at your disposal to maintain a level of control should weather not permit flying of the falcons.

Carry out regular patrols of the site. 

We will also ask you to develop a positive working relationship with the client, complete daily reports for the site file and liaise with your area manager to improve the service where possible. If problems arise that will affect service to the client, we expect you to notify your area manager as soon as possible.

At NBC, our working birds are a key part of the team and you’ll be responsible for housing them and keeping in good health and feather. When you’re carrying out falconry work, we will expect the birds to be flown in a manner that effectively scares and deters nuisance birds.

Hours of work:

Six days per week: Monday – Saturday, 8am – 5pm.

Requirements for the role:

You will have:

Experience of working and flying birds of prey.

Preferably have your own birds, suitable for this type of work

Be comfortable meeting and talking to new people.

Be able to use a tablet to write reports.

Have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Good attention to detail with the discipline to follow process.

Flexible, willing to respond to opportunity with a can-do attitude.
