Responsibilities:
- Anesthetic Administration: Administer and monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the perioperative period.
- Patient Assessment: Conduct preoperative assessments, obtaining relevant medical histories and collaborating with the surgical team to develop individualized anesthetic plans.
- Equipment Management: Competently handle and manage anesthetic equipment, ensuring proper functioning, maintenance, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Collaboration: Work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and optimize patient care during surgical interventions.
- Emergency Response: Respond effectively to emergencies and complications related to anesthesia, demonstrating proficiency in resuscitation techniques.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of anesthetic procedures, patient assessments, and postoperative care in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
Requirements:
- Registered Anesthetic Operating Department Practitioner with HCPC registration.
- Minimum of 6 months of experience as an Anesthetic ODP in a hospital setting.
- Proficient in administering various types of anesthesia for different surgical specialties.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure perioperative environment.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety.
- Flexibility to work in ad hoc and long-term positions
