Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and energetic individual to work within the hand therapy team at Chelsea and Westminster hospital. This role is suitable for someone who has worked in closed trauma fracture clinics, out-patient clinics and wards - with post-operative and non-operative patients. Hand therapist is required for adults and children with trauma and acquired conditions - including splinting, exercises, functional rehabilitation, scar and oedema management to help support additional demand. The post holder will be a clearly identifiable senior clinical staff member. They will have significant clinical experience, provide sound clinical expertise to their team and more junior staff and coordinate and deliver high quality care. They will be a role model for expert clinical care, and lead on specific projects / service developments and management functions as delegated by the Clinical Lead therapists. They will role model the Trust values at all times.

Your role will see you working in hospital clinics providing life-changing treatment, support, and care for patients of all ages.

You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team of Therapists, Doctors, Nurses and Psychologists to achieve the very best outcomes for patients.

Qualifications/Licenses/Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject
  * At least 2 years post-graduate experience.
  * 6 months recent NHS experience within the last 3 years.
  * You will need to pass an enhanced background check.

Essential Criteria

• HCPC registration
  * Significant clinical experience in hand therapy - assessment, splinting and modalities.
• Able to clinically reason for simple and more complex trauma and acquired hand and wrist conditions including tendon and nerve repairs, fractures, conditions such as Dupuytren's, OA, wrist pain, De Quervain's.
• Ability to carry a caseload of adults and paediatrics and help junior therapists with clinical reasoning and treatment planning
• Experience in interpreting hand and wrist X-rays

Desired Criteria

• Have worked in UK NHS system in a Hand Therapy Band 6 or 7 role
