About the Role
Our Field Support Engineers are the face of Marshall proactively maintaining our equipment so it can be used to support our customers in the most critical of situations. As a Mobile (internally known as Field) Support Engineer, you will be conducting maintenance and inspection, repair and fault diagnosis tasks across a wide range of in-service support contracts.
As a customer facing role, you will be required to travel Nationally and in some instances internationally to various sites around the world (95% in UK) to provide effective and professional support to our customer needs and requirements, whilst maintaining excellent business relationships on behalf of Marshall Land Systems (MLS). As a Field Support Technician, you will have experience working independently, with the need to link with another Engineer during your first 3 months.
This role can be based UK wide, but there will be a requirement for occasional travel to Marshall in Cambridge and eventually Alconbury.
Key responsibilities of the role are as follows:
Carrying out inspection and testing of MLS specialist projects using engineering drawings and associated design data to BS7671 standards.
Undertaking scheduled and ad hoc electrical/mechanical maintenance, fault investigations and diagnostics of products on the full portfolio of MLS supported products at various locations worldwide.
Travelling at short notice to carry out inspections and repairs in the UK, as well as the rest of the world, and potentially in military operational areas.
Understanding customer requirements, providing a positive image of MLS whilst promoting its capabilities.
Working with the training team to provide support and guidance of equipment to end-users.
Qualifications:
Level 3 Electro-technical qualifications to a recognised industry standard, with a minimum of 2 years' experience.
City & Guilds 2382 BS 7671 IET Wiring Regulations 18th Edition or happy to upskill
C&G 2391-50 Inspection and testing initial verification
C&G 2391-51 for periodic Inspection or C&G 2391-52
Experience:
Experience in undertaking electrical work on military equipment/systems highly desirable.
Experience of Defence Standards and Environments, awareness of military support skills and capabilities, an understanding of Joint Service Publications (e.g. Army Equipment Support Publications (AESPs)/Air Publications (APs)/Naval Technical Publications).
Knowledge of military shelter systems desirable.
Knowledge of 3 phase electrical installations.
Additional Requirements:
Ability to travel in the UK and Overseas
Occasional weekend working
SC Clearance. (Either, having or the ability to gain SC Clearance is a requirement for this role)
Driving Licence.
There will be the occasional need to travel to Marshall Land Systems Head Quarters for training and team collaboration events
