Financial Controller
Axon Moore is exclusively partnering with an award-winning business who are looking for a Financial Controller. You will be working closely with the Finance Director and be responsible for the management of the finance function, maintaining financial controls across the wider business, Board packs and overseeing the production of consolidated management accounts. This is a fantastic opportunity and not one to be missed.
Salary - £70,000 - £75,000
Location – North Manchester
Responsibilities will include: - Managing, supporting and developing a small finance team, covering management accounts, transactional finance and credit control.
- Managing the credit control process including setting/reviewing credit limits, managing held orders, calculations of cash collection targets and debtor days, and conducting monthly review meetings.
- Overseeing the preparation of accurate and timely consolidated management accounts and Board pack ready for FD review.
- Overseeing the external audit process and liaising with the audit teams in both the UK and overseas.
- Month end reporting and periodic audits for the bank, including detailed reconciliations of both trade debtors and stock.
- Management of the monthly payroll process, pension submissions and P11Ds.
- Assisting the Finance with ad hoc projects, designed to drive efficiencies within the department and continued improvements in the financial control across the wider business e.g. the setting up of overseas subsidiaries, the implementation of a purchase order system and postponed VAT accounting.
- Reviewing and approving payment runs, monitoring expenditure and managing the corporate credit cards used within the business
- Overseeing the preparation of the VAT returns, R&D claims.
- Submission of the periodic royalties, monitoring sales performance versus target and managing any supplier audits.
Person Specification: - Qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong I.T. skills
- Previous experience of reconciling and analysing stock in a high-volume transactional business
- Previous experience of preparing trade debtor and stock reconciliations for CID/stock facility providers would be desirable
