Job description
We are seeking a seasoned and self-driven professional to join our team as the Head of People in a stand-alone capacity. As the sole HR representative, the successful candidate will lead the development and execution of the human resources function, shaping the company's culture and ensuring a positive and inclusive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Operations and Compliance:
- Oversee HR operations, including policy development, compliance, and legal matters.
- Oversee and manage our payroll consultant ensuring end of month payroll is signed off and run on time
- Lead on the implementation and/or renewal of any employment visas/sponsorships ensuring any paperwork is dealt with in a timely manner
- Ensure HR processes and procedures are efficient, effective, and in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Strategic HR Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive people strategy aligned with the company's overall objectives.
- Provide strategic guidance to senior leadership on talent acquisition, retention, and development.
- Drive HR initiatives that contribute to a high-performance culture.
Talent Acquisition and Management:
- Oversee the full recruitment life cycle, ensuring the acquisition of top talent to meet the company's current and future needs.
- Develop and implement effective onboarding programs to facilitate seamless integration of new hires.
- Foster a performance-driven culture through the implementation of performance management systems and employee development programs.
Employee Engagement and Culture:
- Champion a positive and inclusive workplace culture that aligns with the company's values.
- Develop and execute initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and overall well-being.
- Implement diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies to create a diverse and supportive work environment.
- Be the go-to within the business for all HR-related aspects
Learning and Development:
- Design and implement training and development programs that support employee growth and skill enhancement.
- Identify and leverage opportunities for continuous learning to ensure a highly skilled and adaptable workforce.
Employee Relations:
- Handle employee relations matters with professionalism, ensuring fair and consistent resolution of issues.
- Promote open communication and address concerns to maintain a positive work environment.
Person Specification:
Education and Experience:
- CIPD Level 7 or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Proven experience in a stand-alone HR role or as the sole HR representative within a growing and progressive company.
Skills:
- Strong strategic thinking and leadership skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Ability to work independently and manage all aspects of the HR function.
