Business & Commercial Consultant

Position Description
CGI SDI is currently seeking a Senior Business and Commercial manager to join our team in Gloucester. You will be responsible for the procurement lifecycle for CGI and for its partner ecosystem whilst ensuring compliance to contract terms. In this role, you will be part of an Account Management Office (AMO) team that manages a major government contract and its suppliers. The AMO team consists of 5 other individuals, each with their own specialism, however the candidate will be required to help out in other aspects of the team such as finance, security and communications if required.

Your future duties and responsibilities
• Create and Review competitive proposals for systems and services offered by suppliers and prepare comparative analyses of factors such as cost, delivery schedule, quality, and past performance.
• Manage the end to end bid process
• Negotiate subcontract requirements, prices, and terms and conditions.
• Issue subcontracts to start ups, SMEs and large defense contractors.
• Maintain procurement history records on all transactions.
• Extensively interact with multiple functions including engineering, operations, quality, finance, accounting, and management to achieve procurement objectives.
• Manage suppliers and expedite supplier deliverables. Resolve supplier problems as they arise.
• Ensure that procurement actions and file documents support CGI processes.
• Ensure compliance with all contractual, regulatory and audit requirements, including contract terms and conditions.
• May provide guidance to and supervise procurement personnel.
• Manage relationships with the client and the partner ecosystem.
• Willing to work as part of a team to deliver all aspects of the AMO.
• Produce client required reporting and attend associated meetings.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Minimum requirements for this position:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement
• Must be a UK citizen with the ability and willingness to obtain a DV clearance.
• Willing to work in the Gloucester area
• Proven history of leading and winning complex bids
• Experience managing a partnership ecosystem

Preferred requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain, economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience at a government contractor or subcontractor.
• Experience of writing proposals for the winning of new work
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven experience working on a wide range of pre-sales activities
• Confidence, flexibility and adaptability
