Exciting Opportunity: Teaching Assistant Needed!

Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual with a passion for supporting students with autism spectrum disorder? We are seeking an enthusiastic teaching assistant to join our team!

Responsibilities:

As a teaching assistant, you will play a vital role in providing essential support for students who have autism spectrum disorder. Your responsibilities will include:

Individualised Support: Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with ASD, implementing strategies tailored to their specific needs and learning styles.

Communication Support: Assist students in developing communication skills, utilising visual aids, social stories, and other tools to enhance understanding and expression.

Sensory Support: Create a sensory-friendly environment and implement sensory techniques to support students with sensory processing difficulties.

Behavioural Support: Implement positive behaviour management strategies, including reinforcement techniques and de-escalation strategies, to promote a calm and supportive learning environment.

Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to develop and implement individualised education plans for sudents, ensuring a holistic approach to their development.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

· An Enhanced DBS Check (or be willing to complete one)

· Relevant education qualifications (We can help with this if you do not already have one)

· Experience, either personally or work related, supporting people with autism spectrum disorder.
