Job description
St Georgeʼs British International School is seeking a Teacher of Computer Science join our team on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2024. The successful candidate will be able to teach across age and ability levels including Key Stage 3 Computing and IGCSE Computer Science.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
■ To teach Computing at Key Stage 3 and Computer Science at Key Stage 4
■ To have a strong focus on relationships and enjoy working as part of a high-performing team
■ To demonstrate comprehensive subject knowledge up to IGCSE level
■ To engage and motivate pupils to strive for the highest performance
■ To keep abreast of new curriculum thinking, teaching methods and examination syllabuses and implement the National Curriculum, IGCSE and IB syllabuses as appropriate and according to the policies of the Department, in discussion with the Head of Department
■ To develop and share schemes of work and resources
■ To contribute to the department’s improvement/development planning and promote the learning priorities of the school’s Vision, Mission and Values document
■ To promote the wider aspirations and values of the school, the academic Department and the IB Learner Profile
Pastoral
■ To show an active interest in each childʼs personal and domestic circumstances, and to foster the personal and social developments of each pupil in your care
■ To actively promote the social, moral and cultural ethos of the school community
■ To create an atmosphere of support by being aware of, and fully compliant with, all of the schoolʼs pastoral policies
■ To be familiar with all the schoolʼs policies on Health and Safety and be proactive in ensuring the safety of all members of the school community at all times
■ To promote exemplary behaviour and a responsible attitude amongst pupils
■ To be aware of and act upon all policies regarding the safeguarding of children

Formal Qualifications/Experience
■ A good UK Honours Degree (or equivalent)
■ A certified teaching qualification (i.e. Qualified Teacher Status)

■ A strong record of professional development.
The successful candidate will initially be offered a fixed-term contract, subject to the successful completion of a probationary period.
