Head of KS3 Science

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding science teacher to the role of Head of Key Stage 3 Science. Applications are invited from inspiring classroom practitioners who have a proven track record of successful teaching and achievement across all abilities at Key Stage 3 and 4. We are looking for someone who will further develop our extremely engaging KS3 curriculum and STEM provision: we want all students to become the very best scientists possible! The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of science curriculum design, high quality teaching, learning and assessment and excellent interpersonal skills. The candidate will also be passionate and dedicated to ensuring STEM provision across the academy is captivating for students, and also secure an increase in the number of girls who participate in STEM activities.

Ormiston Meridian Academy is a thriving secondary academy in the south of the city, serving 11-16 year old students. Our ambition statement is ‘Shaping Lives, Building Ambition and Igniting Futures’ and every decision we make and action we take is to ensure our students excel as young adults. Alongside our lessons, we provide a rich and diverse co-curricular programme that develops character and inspires our students. We all work together to instil a strong sense of belonging for all, which enables students to succeed and become active members of the community as they move into adulthood.

Applications are welcome from experienced teachers and teachers with existing responsibility to join our thriving, dynamic and supportive Science Faculty.
