Job description

A large and fastest growing Landscape Service Providers is looking to recruit an Assistant Operations Manager due to an increase in both volume of work and scope of new business within the Housebuilder sector across the South East.

The Assistant Operations Manager will support the Operations Manager by supervising the operational teams and their projects, working to ensure that all installation projects are completed to specification, finished on time and match agreed quality standards.

This is a good opportunity for someone to take the step up from Team Leader, Supervisor or Foreman into an off the tools role, or, for an existing Contracts or Operations Assistant Manager looking to join a large, well established and growing landscape services provider, be a key part of the team and benefit from career progression opportunities.

As the Assistant Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:

Ensuring the Landscaping teams are leaving the Depot on time, know where they are going, what they are doing and have everything they need to be able to efficiently complete their assigned projects to the required time frames and quality standards.

Ensuring sub-contracted teams are on site, completing work efficiently and to the required quality standards and time frames.

Training and developing Teams to ensure career progression for them.

Working with Clients, Internal Teams and Colleagues to resolve any queries or site, staff, or work-related issues.

Ensuring Health & Safety compliance.

Checking vans.

Ensuring Teams are working to always meet safety and any site-specific requirements.

Travelling extensively across the South East to sites to ensure work is being completed correctly, meeting with Site Managers and Clients resolving any concerns or issues and actively promoting the additional services that the company can offer.

To be considered as the Assistant Operations Manager you will need to demonstrate that you have:

A minimum of two years’ experience leading or supervising landscaping teams.

The ability to organise several teams across multiple projects.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Good IT skills with experience of using Excel, Word, Outlook, and other MS Office Applications.

In return, the Assistant Operations Manager will receive a salary up to £33’000 per year which is negotiable based on experience, a company vehicle, 4 weeks holiday, pension scheme and the opportunity to be a key part of a growing business, gaining career progression opportunities based on company and person growth.
