Senior Pastoral Support Lead Salary: Grade 8, points 18 – 23, £25,394 - £27,830 pro-rata (£29,269 - £32,076 FTE) Contract: Permanent, term time plus one week, to be agreed Hours: 37 per week Starting date: 15th April 2024 or by negotiation Reporting to: Assistant Headteacher: Student Development We are seeking a Pastoral professional to lead a small team of Pastoral Support Assistants and to manage safeguarding concerns. This role carries Assistant DSL responsibilities and will suit someone who is passionate about giving students the best start to their adult lives. The successful candidate will be confident about safeguarding and able to work within and help guide the pastoral team to support students in complex circumstances. Having an active interest in current safeguarding and child protection policy will be an advantage. The successful candidate will be creative and diligent, finding new and innovative ways to support students back into the classroom and beyond. You will need to be confident in challenging students and working with parents and carers, often having to tackle difficult questions in a professional manner that puts the child at the centre of the conversation. You will also take responsibility for managing the school safeguarding system and triaging any concerns that come through, ensuring that they are dealt with in a timely and appropriate fashion. A flexible approach regarding working pattern is essential to be able to support occasional evening/weekend events.
